Video game localization
|Tales from the Borderlands, Episode 3

This video contains nearly 2 hours of playthrough of the Episode 3 for a total of nearly 85,000 words, since it is an episodic graphic adventure comedy video game.

The popular game, full of sarcasm and puns, was both challenging and fun to translate.

Although there could be other videos out there with other translations, bear in mind that they usually resort to fan translations while the official one is carried out and implemented. This is my actual translation.

Video game localization
|Steel Battalion. Heavy Armor

Here is a sample of the translation/proofreading I did for this 90,000 words video game. It appears on the captions of the first half of the following video.

I had to deal with character limitation most of the time and adapt the register to the context of the game.

This is what expert game reviewers say about the translation (original comments in Spanish):

"The dialogues are in English, but an effective translation into Spanish has been incorporated so that we understand every last one of the comments made by our allies."

Project |03

Mobile app localization
|Everfriends: a chatbot app

The localization of this app went beyond a typical translation, since it is a chatbot.

This meant it required the translation of different possible answers for each question, adaptation to local cultural references, cross-referencing between pairs of XML files to match questions with answers, etc.

MMO localization
|Forge of Empires

Here is a sample of the localization I did for this browser-based strategy game.

It has won the German Computer Games Award (Deutscher Computerspielepreis) in the category “Best Strategy Browser MMO”. It is a great feeling to be part of an award-winning game and be able to provide a better experience to Spanish speaking gamers.

In the localization I had to adapt the register to each Age, apart from dealing with translations around variables and character limitations.

Project |05

App localization
|Birthday Board

This is a good sample of an app localization, for it represents the typical marketing tone used to address Spanish customers.

Since the app is in constant development, I usually need to do smaller rush jobs which I always deliver quickly.

Because of that and the prompt reply to e-mails, the app developer himself is a satisfied returning customer, as you may check on the TESTIMONIALS section of the Clients page.

This is just a sample of my work. To learn more or discuss possible work >>
